About
What foundation do you build your life on?
We all have different answers. Many of us would say our faith is our foundation. Others, our jobs; our kids; our hopes for retirement. The vast majority of us, though, have one basic necessity in common. We all require a roof over our heads. That one basic necessity unites all of us.
But is it truly enough?
When the 2020 pandemic began, it upended life as we knew it. We endured it together but in solitude, with many of us staying home far longer than we ever did in normal times. And then a truly amazing thing happened: across the entire United States, across virtually every demographic and age group, home sales went parabolic, and that meant both buyers AND sellers entered the market at an unheard-of pace. Truly, 2020 and 2021 have been for the record books.
In the end, it wasn’t the pandemic itself that caused this incredible surge in movement. Truly, when we all found ourselves stuck at home for months, many of us realized that having a roof over our heads was not enough. We looked at our houses, as a nation, and found them lacking. To an extent, this happened with our jobs as well. We were given time to reflect on our lives. For many of us, we realized something had to change.
What we realized was that a home is more than just a roof. It’s more than just a secure place for our rest, and belongings. A true home inspires us, and brings peace, stability, and clarity to our lives. And, since everyone finds inspiration from different sources, every single person has a different, ideal home.
This is where I come in. Anyone can sell you a roof over their heads. As a realtor however, I must aspire to find more than that, for you. That means we’ll have to sit down, together, and have The Talk — are you happy with your current living arrangements? Why not? What hole do we need to fill in your life? Once we answer those questions, we can figure out the next step to take, together, and make your dreams a reality.
To conclude, a very short biography:
I majored in music performance and accounting in South Carolina. My life fundamentally changed when I first invested in rental properties, which eventually led me here. Few books are truly sacred, but The Intelligent Investor, by Benjamin Graham will always hold a special place in my heart.
